Skate on over to the SPCA Thrift Store

SPCA Thrift Store - How to Help!

Thank you to all loyal donors and shoppers who support the thrift store, the profits of which maintain our shelter at 5th and Morrill.
In this economy, stiff competition, store theft and high overhead make it a continuous struggle to keep our doors open. Here is how you can help:

HELP IF YOU ARE DONATING: As we have no cleaning or repairing facilities and pay high dumpster fees, please donate only items that are “ready to sell”. If possible place items in boxes (with or w/o lids). Launder, fold and box clothing especially bed linens. (It is very helpful if you can mark the size). We cannot sell soiled or
broken items which typicallyend up in our dumpster. Furniture donations generate our largest profit and the least labor and overhead expense.

HELP BY TELLING YOUR FRIENDS: Frequently, encourage participation from friends, neighbors and relatives.

HELP WHILE YOU ARE SHOPPING: Help us to keep the store clean by replacing items neatly on the shelves and clothes back on their hangers.

HELP BY VOLUNTEERING: Any amount of time you can volunteer is greatly appreciated; four hours a week or a month, whatever time you can provide to assist with sorting, pricing, dusting, decorating, etc. We are open seven days a week and welcome anyone who can help.

Remember all of the profits received from the thrift store go directly to help in giving many more cats and dogs a second chance.
